Synaptotagmin is a synaptic vesicle membrane protein with properties suggestive of a role in synaptic vesicle exocytosis (Perin, M. S., Fried, V. A., Mignery, G. A., Jahn, R., and Südhof, T. C. (1990) Nature 345, 260-263).
