In this study, the distribution of synapses in the ventral centrifugal horizontal (VCH)-a nonspiking, inhibitory, motion-sensitive interneuron in the third visual ganglion (lobula plate) of the blowfly Calliphora erythrocephala-was examined by electron microscopy and electrophysiology.
