A surprising consequence of nonlinear flavor evolution is the spontaneous breaking of the initial symmetries of the neutrino gas propagating in a dense astrophysical environment. We explore the flavor conversion physics by taking into account the polar and azimuthal angular distributions of neutrinos and present the very first example of spontaneous symmetry breaking in the context of fast flavor mixing in the nonlinear regime. Intriguingly, we find that fast flavor mixing does not always…

Supernova Neutrino Decoupling Is Altered by Flavor Conversion
The large neutrino density in the deep interior of core-collapse supernovae makes neutrino flavor evolution non-linear because of the coherent forward scattering of neutrinos among themselves. Under
Neutrino Flavor Conversion, Advection, and Collisions: The Full Solution

The fast flavor instability (FFI) is expected to be ubiquitous in core-collapse supernovae and neutron star mergers. It rapidly shuffles neutrino flavor in a way that could impact the explosion
Neutrino Flavor Pendulum Reloaded: The Case of Fast Pairwise Conversion.
In core-collapse supernovae or compact binary merger remnants, neutrino-neutrino refraction can spawn fast pair conversion of the type ν_{e}ν[over ¯]_{e}↔ν_{x}ν[over ¯]_{x} (with x=μ, τ), governed by
