We investigate Killing tensors for various black hole solutions of supergravity theories. Rotating black holes of an ungauged theory, toroidally compactified heterotic supergravity, with NUT parameters and two U(1) gauge fields are constructed. If both charges are set equal, then the solutions simplify, and then there are concise expressions for rank-2 conformal Killing–Stäckel tensors. These are induced by rank-2 Killing–Stäckel tensors of a conformally related metric that possesses a…

Separability of black holes in string theory

A bstractWe analyze the origin of separability for rotating black holes in string theory, considering both massless and massive geodesic equations as well as the corresponding wave equations. We

Dyonic AdS black holes in maximal gauged supergravity

We present two new classes of dyonic anti-de Sitter black hole solutions of four-dimensional maximal N=8, SO(8) gauged supergravity. They are (1) static black holes of N=2, U(1)4 gauged supergravity

Black holes in N=8 supergravity from SO(4,4) hidden symmetries

We detail the construction of the most general asymptotically flat, stationary, rotating, nonextremal, dyonic black hole of the four-dimensional N = 2 supergravity coupled to 3 vector multiplets that

Seed for general rotating non-extremal black holes of N=8?> supergravity

We describe the most general asymptotically flat, stationary, non-extremal, dyonic black hole of the four-dimensional N=2?> supergravity coupled to three vector multiplets that describes the

Hidden symmetries of black holes in five-dimensional supergravity

We consider a general charged, rotating black hole in five-dimensional STU supergravity, and show that its six-dimensional Kaluza–Klein lift admits a Killing–Yano 3-form with torsion. This underlies

Generalized hidden symmetries and the Kerr-Sen black hole

We elaborate on basic properties of generalized Killing-Yano tensors which naturally extend Killing-Yano symmetry in the presence of skew-symmetric torsion. In particular, we discuss their

Killing–Yano symmetry of Kaluza–Klein black holes in five dimensions

Using a generalized Killing–Yano equation in the presence of torsion, spacetime metrics admitting a rank-2 generalized Killing–Yano tensor are investigated in five dimensions under the assumption

Wave equation for the Wu black hole

A bstractWu black hole is the most general solution of maximally supersymmetric gauged supergravity in D=5, containing U(1)3 gauge symmetry. We study the separability of the massless Klein-Gordon

Single-charge rotating black holes in four-dimensional gauged supergravity

We consider four-dimensional U(1)4 gauged supergravity, and obtain asymptotically AdS4, non-extremal, charged, rotating black holes with one non-zero U(1) charge. The thermodynamic quantities are

Five-dimensional gauged supergravity black holes with independent rotation parameters

We construct new nonextremal rotating black hole solutions in SO(6) gauged five-dimensional supergravity. Our solutions are the first such examples in which the two rotation parameters are

General nonextremal rotating black holes in minimal five-dimensional gauged supergravity.

The general solution for nonextremal charged rotating black holes in five-dimensional minimal gauged supergravity is constructed, and it is shown how supersymmetric solutions arise in a Bogomol'nyi-Prasad-Sommerfield limit.

Higher-dimensional black holes: hidden symmetries and separation of variables

In this paper, we discuss hidden symmetries in rotating black hole spacetimes. We start with an extended introduction which mainly summarizes results on hidden symmetries in four dimensions and

Equal charge black holes and seven-dimensional gauged supergravity

We present various supergravity black holes of different dimensions with some charges set equal in a simple, common form. Black hole solutions of seven-dimensional gauged supergravity with three
