The free (4,0) superconformal theory in 6 dimensions and its toroidal dimensional reductions are studied. The reduction to four dimensions on a 2-torus has an SL(2,) duality symmetry that acts non-trivially on the linearised gravity sector, interchanging the linearised Einstein equations and Bianchi identities and giving a self-duality between strong and weak coupling regimes. The possibility of this extending to an interacting form of the theory is discussed and implications for the non…

We give a linearized but otherwise complete supersymmetric action for N $$\mathcal{N}$$ = (4 , 0) supergravity in six dimensions, using a Kaluza-Klein-type 5 + 1 split of coordinates and fields. We
We provide a linearised superfield description of the exotic non-metric N = (4, 0) supergravity in D = 6, by using a pure spinor superfield formalism. The basic field Ψ is a ghost number 2 scalar,

In a spacetime of dimension n, the dual graviton is characterised by a Young diagram with two columns, the first of length n − 3 and the second of length one. In this paper we perform the off-shell

We investigate exotic supergravity theories in 6D with maximal (4,0) and (3,1) supersymmetry, which were conjectured by C. Hull to exist and to describe strong coupling limits of ${\cal N}=8$

A bstractThe (4, 0) theory in six dimensions is an exotic theory of supergravity that has been argued to emerge as the strong coupling limit of theories having N = 8 supergravity as their low energy
