A southwest region of the Carina Nebula was observed with the Suzaku observatory for $47\:$ks in 2010 December. This region shows distinctively soft X-ray emission in the Chandra campaign observations. Suzaku clearly detects the diffuse emission above known foreground and background components between 0.4–$5\:$keV at the surface brightness of $3.3\times 10^{-14}\:$erg$\:$s$^{-1}\:$arcmin$^{-2}$. The spectrum requires two plasma emission components with $kT \sim 0.2$ and $0.5\:$keV, which… Expand

Suzaku and XMM-Newton observations of diffuse X-ray emission from the eastern tip region of the Carina Nebula
The eastern tip region of the Carina Nebula was observed with the Suzaku XIS for 77 ks to conduct a highprecision spectral study of extended X-ray emission. XMM-Newton EPIC data of this region wereExpand
Suzaku Observation of Diffuse X-Ray Emission from the Carina Nebula
We studied extended X-ray emission from the Carina Nebula taken with the Suzaku CCD camera XIS on 2005 Aug. 29. The X-ray morphology, plasma temperature and absorption to the plasma are consistentExpand
THE INTEGRATED DIFFUSE X-RAY EMISSION OF THE CARINA NEBULA COMPARED TO OTHER MASSIVE STAR-FORMING REGIONS
The Chandra Carina Complex Project (CCCP) has shown that the Carina Nebula displays bright, spatially-complex soft diffuse X-ray emission. Here, we 'sum up' the CCCP diffuse emission work byExpand
Investigation of Diffuse Hard X-Ray Emission from the Massive Star-forming Region NGC 6334
Chandra ACIS-I data of the molecular cloud and H II region complex NGC 6334 were analyzed. The hard X-ray clumps detected with ASCA (Sekimoto and coworkers) were resolved into 792 point sources.Expand
AN INTRODUCTION TO THE CHANDRA CARINA COMPLEX PROJECT
The Great Nebula in Carina provides an exceptional view into the violent massive star formation and feedback that typifies giant H II regions and starburst galaxies. We have mapped the CarinaExpand
Suzaku Spectroscopy of Extended X-Ray Emission in M17
We present the results of a Suzaku spectroscopic study of soft extended X-ray emission in the H II region of M 17. The spectrum of the extended emission was obtained with a high signal-to-noise ratioExpand
The Discovery of Diffuse X-Ray Emission in NGC 2024, One of the Nearest Massive Star-forming Regions
We analyzed deep 75 ks Chandra ACIS-I data of NGC 2024 with the aim of searching for diffuse X-ray emission in this most nearby (415 pc) of massive star-forming regions. After removing point sources,Expand
The Chandra Carina Complex Project: Deciphering the enigma of Carina's diffuse X-ray emission
We present a 1.42 deg2 mosaic of diffuse X-ray emission in the Great Nebula in Carina from the Chandra X-ray Observatory Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer camera. After removing >14,000 X-ray pointExpand
10 MK Gas in M17 and the Rosette Nebula: X-Ray Flows in Galactic H II Regions
We present the first high spatial resolution X-ray images of two high-mass star forming regions, the Omega Nebula (M17) and the Rosette Nebula (NGC 2237-2246), obtained with the Chandra X-RayExpand
Study of the X-Ray Background Spectrum and its Large-Scale Fluctuation with ASCA
We studied the energy spectrum and the large-scale fluctuation of the X-ray background with the ASCA GIS based on the ASCA MSS and LSS observations. A total of 91 fields with Galactic latitude |b|>10Expand
