Abstract The EEG tracings of 1,000 consecutive subjects with headache of presumably non-organic origin were classified with respect to normal, borderline and clearly disordered character. The overall percentage of disordered tracings was 9.7 per cent in males as compared with 20.5 per cent in females. The incidence of disorder was therefore high for both sexes but especially so for the females.
