Metopic synostosis is characterized by keel-shaped forehead (trigonocephaly), prominent midline ridge of the forehead, bitemporal narrowing, bilateral retrusion of supraorbits, egg-shaped orbits, low nasal dorsum, and reduced volume of the anterior cranial fossa.
