[Surgical treatment of Crohn's disease--recurrence and prognosis in operated cases].

Abstract

We have experienced 40 cases of Crohn's disease from 1970 to 1984 and surgical treatments were performed in 22 cases. Ileocolitis was found in 10, ileitis in 6, colitis in 5 and appendix was involved in 1 case. Postoperative follow-up is accomplished in all cases. Recurrences are confirmed in 7 cases (35%).
