Different forms of cell-mediated cytotoxicity were suppressed in the presence of trypan blue. The systems affected included lysis of antibody-coated tumor cells by normal and C. parvum-stimulated mouse peritoneal cells and lysis of allogeneic targets by immune effector cells. The inhibition, measured in a 4-hr 51Cr release assay, was reversible and did not occur in the presence of 30% fetal calf serum or albumin.
