We propose a novel string theory propagating in a non-commutative deformation of the four dimensional space T* T^2 whose scattering states correspond to superconformal theories in 5 dimensions and the scattering amplitudes compute superconformal indices of the corresponding 5d theories. The superconformal theories are obtained by M-theory compactifications on singular CY 3-folds or equivalently from a web of 5-branes of type IIB strings. The cubic interaction of this string theory for primitive…

Self-Dual Strings of Six-Dimensional SCFTs
In this thesis we aim to characterize the self-dual strings of six-dimensional superconformal field theories (SCFTs) and develop a variety of techniques to compute their elliptic genera, which
Superconformal partition functions and non-perturbative topological strings

A bstractWe propose a non-perturbative definition for refined topological strings. This can be used to compute the partition function of superconformal theories in 5 dimensions on squashed S5 and the

A bstractWe consider the vacuum geometry of supersymmetric theories with 4 supercharges, on a flat toroidal geometry. The 2 dimensional vacuum geometry is known to be captured by the tt* geometry. In

A bstractWe evaluate the Nekrasov partition function of 5d gauge theories engineered by webs of 5-branes, using the refined topological vertex on the dual Calabi-Yau three-folds. The theories include
Wilson loops, instantons and quantum mechanics
In this thesis we will examine two different problems. The first is the computation of vacuum expectation values of Wilson loop operators in ABJM theory, the other problem is finding the instanton
Non-Lagrangian theories from brane junctions
• Physics, Mathematics

A bstractIn this article we use 5-brane junctions to study the 5D TN SCFTs corresponding to the 5D $\mathcal{N}$ = 1 uplift of the 4D $\mathcal{N}$ = 2 strongly coupled gauge theories, which are
A slow review of the AGT correspondence
Starting with a gentle approach to the AGT correspondence from its 6d origin, these notes provide a wide survey of the literature on numerous extensions of the correspondence. This is the writeup of

A bstractWe use mirror symmetry, quantum geometry and modularity properties of elliptic curves to calculate the refined free energies in the Nekrasov-Shatashvili limit on non-compact toric Calabi-Yau
