Reactive oxygen metabolites are implicated in the initiation and promotion of cancer. In addition, oxidant scavengers, such as manganese--(Mn-SOD) and copper/zinc--superoxide dismutase (Cu/Zn-SOD), are thought to contribute to colorectal cancer treatment response.
