Left lung autotransplantation (LLA) results in a chronic attenuation in endothelium-dependent, nitric oxide (NO)-mediated pulmonary vasodilation. We tested the hypothesis that this abnormality involves a decrease in the effective concentration of NO due to inactivation by superoxide anion.
