Following a recent proposal, we employ the AdS/CFT correspondence to compute the jet quenching parameter for = 4 Yang-Mills theory at nonzero R-charge densities. Using as dual supergravity backgrounds non-extremal rotating branes, we find that the presence of the R-charges generically enhances the jet quenching phenomenon. However, at fixed temperature, this enhancement might or might not be a monotonically increasing function of the R-charge density and depends on the number of independent…

Jet quenching at finite `t Hooft coupling and chemical potential from AdS/CFT

Following the nonperturbative prescription for the jet quenching parameter recently proposed by Liu, Rajagopal and Wiedemann, we compute the first correction in the inverse `t Hooft coupling

Spacelike strings and jet quenching from a Wilson loop

We investigate stationary string solutions with spacelike worldsheet in a five- dimensional AdS black hole background, and find that there are many branches of such solutions. Using a

Calculating the jet quenching parameter in the plasma of NCYM theory from gauge/gravity duality

A particular decoupling limit of the nonextremal (D1, D3) brane bound state system of type IIB string theory is known to give the gravity dual of space-space noncommutative Yang-Mills theory at

Calculating the jet-quenching parameter in STU background

In this paper we use the AdS/CFT correspondence to compute the jet-quenching parameter in a $\mathcal{N}=2$ thermal plasma. We consider the general three-charged black hole and discuss several

Energy Loss and Jet Quenching Parameter in A Thermal Non-Relativistic, Non-Commutative Yang-Mills Plasma

In this paper we consider the problem of a moving heavy quark through a hot nonrelativistic, non-commutative Yang-Mills plasma. We discuss about the configuration of the static quark and obtain the

The Energy of a Moving Quark-Antiquark Pair in an N = 4 SYM Plasma

We make use of the AdS/CFT correspondence to determine the energy of an external quark-antiquark pair that moves through strongly-coupled thermal N = 4 super-Yang-Mills plasma. It is found that the

Screening length in plasma winds

We study the screening length Ls of a heavy quark-antiquark pair in strongly coupled gauge theory plasmas flowing at velocity v. Using the AdS/CFT correspondence we investigate, analytically, the

Robustness and Infrared Sensitivity of Various Observables in the Application of AdS/CFT to Heavy Ion Collisions

We investigate the robustness with respect to the introduction of nonconformality of five properties of strongly coupled plasmas that have been calculated in = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills (SYM)

Gluon scattering amplitudes in finite temperature gauge/gravity dualities

We examine the gluon scattering amplitude in $ \mathcal{N} = 4 $ super Yang-Mills at finite temperature with nonzero R-charge densities, and in Non-Commutative gauge theory at finite temperature. The

On drag forces and jet quenching in strongly-coupled plasmas

We compute the drag force experienced by a heavy quark that moves through plasma in a gauge theory whose dual description involves arbitrary metric and dilaton fields. As a concrete application, we
