We provide a systematic and practical method of deriving 5D supergravity action described by 4D superfields on a general warped geometry, including a non-BPS background. Our method is based on the superconformal formulation of 5D supergravity, but is easy to handle thanks to the superfield formalism. We identify the radion superfield in the language of 5D superconformal gravity, and clarify its appearance in the action. We also discuss SUSY breaking effects induced by a deformed geometry due to…

Impacts of non-geometric moduli on effective theory of 5D supergravity

5D supergravity generically has moduli other than the radion that belong to 5D vector multiplets. We summarize the impacts of such non-geometric moduli on 4D effective theory of 5D supergravity on

Scherk-Schwarz SUSY breaking from the viewpoint of 5D conformal supergravity

We reinterpret the Scherk-Schwarz (SS) boundary condition for SU(2)R in a compactified five-dimensional (5D) Poincare supergravity in terms of the twisted SU(2)U gauge fixing in 5D conformal

Direct relation of linearized supergravity to superconformal formulation

A bstractWe modify the four-dimensional N = 1 linearized supergravity in a way that components in each superfield are completely identified with fields in the full superconformal formulation. This

Motivated by recent efforts to encode 11D supergravity in 4D N = 1 superfields, we introduce a general covariant framework relevant for describing any higher dimensional supergravity theory in

Supergravity Tensor Calculus in 5D from 6D

Supergravity tensor calculus in five spacetime dimensions is derived by dimensional reduction from the d = 6 superconformal tensor calculus. In particular, we obtain an off-shell hypermultiplet in 5D

Superconformal Tensor Calculus on an Orbifold in 5D

Superconformal tensor calculus on an orbifold S 1 /Z 2 is given in five-dimensional (5D) spacetime. The four-dimensional superconformal Weyl multiplet and various matter multiplets are induced on the

Geometry mediated supersymmetry breaking

We investigate SUSY breaking mediated through the deformation of the space-time geometry due to the backreaction of a nontrivial configuration of a bulk scalar field. To illustrate its features, we

Off-Shell d=5 Supergravity Coupled to a Matter-Yang-Mills System.

We present an off-shell formulation of a matter-Yang-Mills system coupled to supergravity in five-dimensional space-time. We give an invariant action for a general system of vector multiplets and

Off-Shell Formulation of Supergravity on an Orbifold

An off-shell formulation is given for the ``supersymmetry in singular spaces'' which has recently been developed in an on-shell formalism by Bergshoeff, Kallosh and Van Proeyen using supersymmetry

Supersymmetric radius stabilization in warped extra dimensions

We propose a simple model of extra-dimensional radius stabilization in a supersymmetric Randall-Sundrum model. In our model, we introduce only a bulk hypermultiplet and source terms (tadpole terms)
