# Superconformal Theories in Six Dimensions

@article{Arvidsson2006SuperconformalTI, title={Superconformal Theories in Six Dimensions}, author={Par Arvidsson}, journal={arXiv: High Energy Physics - Theory}, year={2006} }

This thesis consists of an introductory text, which is divided into two parts, and six appended research papers. The first part contains a general discussion on conformal and superconformal symmetry in six dimensions, and treats how the corresponding transformations act on space-time and superspace fields. We specialize to the case with chiral (2,0) supersymmetry. A formalism is presented for incorporating these symmetries in a manifest way. The second part of the thesis concerns the so called…

### Chiral 2-form actions and their applications to M5-brane(s)

- Mathematics
- 2015

We study the symmetry and dynamics of M5-branes as well as chiral p-forms in this thesis. In the first part, we propose a model describing the gauge sector of multiple M5-branes. The model has…

### Free (2,0) Theory on a Circle Fibration

- Mathematics
- 2011

Using the geometry of a circle fibration the free (2,0) theory, a six dimensional superconformal field theory, is reduced to a five dimensional abelian Yang-Mills theory. The six dimensional theory…

The supergroup OSp(8*|4), which is the superconformal group of (2,0) theory in six dimensions, is broken to the subgroup OSp(4|2)xOSp(4|2) by demanding the invariance of a certain product in a…

A bstractWe construct an action for non-abelian 2-form in 6-dimensions. Our action consists of a non-abelian generalization of the abelian action of Perry and Schwarz for a single five-brane. It…

We show how to define Chern-Simons matter theories with boundary. Rather than imposing boundary conditions, we introduce new boundary degrees of freedom from the beginning and show how they can be…

A class of six-dimensional conformal field theories that possibly are related to the tensionless string theories are described, with the A(N-1) theory arising by factoring out the collective "center of mass" degrees of freedom from N noninteracting chiral two-forms.
