We construct non-equilibrium states by coupling a large but finite system with quasifree evolution to two temperature baths of free fermions or bosons with different temperature. We are interested in the resulting behaviour of the temperature baths as well as in the consequences for the finite system, especially what happens in the limit when the finite system tends to infinity. As a special example we consider the Kronig–Penney model and the tight binding model. Here a heat current remains… Expand

We consider the spectral and dynamical properties of quantum systems of n particles on the lattice $${\mathbb{Z}^d}$$ , of arbitrary dimension, with a Hamiltonian which in addition to the kinetic… Expand

We study localization effects of disorder on the spectral and dynamical properties of Schrödinger operators with random potentials. The new results include exponentially decaying bounds on the… Expand

Given a W*-algebra ${\mathfrak M}$ with a W*-dynamics τ, we prove the existence of the perturbed W*-dynamics for a large class of unbounded perturbations. We compute its Liouvillean. If τ has a β-KMS… Expand

We study linear response theory in the general framework of algebraic quantum statistical mechanics and prove the Green-Kubo formula and the Onsager reciprocity relations for heat fluxes generated by… Expand
