Benzaldehyde inhibited the oxidation of 4-t-butylcatechol catalyzed by mushroom tyrosinase with an IC50 of 31.0 μM. The inhibition kinetics analyzed by Dixon plot indicated that it acts as a partial noncompetitive inhibitor.
