The exact mechanisms of the development of pancreatic fibrosis are still unknown. To clarify the relationship between pancreatic fibrosis and free radicals, the effect of the administration of a superoxide dismutase (SOD) inhibitor, diethyldithiocarbamate (DDC), on pancreatic fibrosis in rats was studied.
