This study investigates the antioxidant activity of Echinacea Purpurea L. (EP) extracts and its impact on cell viability. The polysaccharides content of EP was 159.8 ± 12.4 mg/g dry weight (DW), with extracts obtained by applying 55% ethanol at 55°C containing 11.0 ±1.0 mg gallic acid equivalent/g DW of total phenolic compound. Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity, 0.1 mg/mL of EP extracts exhibited only 30% when compared to the ascorbic acid at the same concentration. Reducing power of…

Appraisal of purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) extract on production performance, internal organs, and gut microflora of japanese quail
TLDR
Results of the present study indicated that using EP extract at the level of 0.5 mL L -1 drinking water could improve feed conversion ratio of quails; however, it decreased the carcass yield of the birds.
Growth performance and antioxidant capacity of broilers supplemented with Echinacea purpurea L. in the diet
TLDR
Dried EP powder can be used as a feed additive to improve the feed conversion and antioxidant activity of broilers.
Protective effect of Echinacea purpurea (Immulant) against cisplatin-induced immunotoxicity in rats
TLDR
The herbal medicine Immulant is an immunostimulant which could be used to treat the immunotoxic effects of cisplatin, a highly effective antineoplastic DNA alkylating agent.
Morphological evaluation and antioxidant activity of in vitro- and in vivo-derived Echinacea purpurea plants
TLDR
Significant higher levels were observed regarding water-soluble and lipid-Soluble antioxidant capacities and total pnenols content in extracts of Echinaceae flowers derived from in vitro propagated plants and adapted to field conditions in comparison with traditionally cultivated plants.

Antioxidant and antiproliferative activities of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam 'Tainong 57') constituents
TLDR
The antipro- liferative activities of the different extracts from sweet potato organs were studied in vitro using human lymphoma NB4 cells, and the following re- sults were found: water extract of vein had the highest antiproliferative activity with an EC 50 of 449.6 ± 27.73 µg/mL.

TLDR
Both water extract (WEBP) and ethanol extract (EEBP) of black pepper exhibited strong total antioxidant activity and standard antioxidants such asbutylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and α-tocopherol exhibited 92.1%, 95.0%, and 70.4% inhibition on peroxidation of linoleic acid emulsion, respectively.
Synergistic antioxidative effects of alkamides, caffeic acid derivatives, and polysaccharide fractions from Echinacea purpurea on in vitro oxidation of human low-density lipoproteins.
TLDR
Synergistic antioxidant effects of Echinacea constituents were found when cichoric acid or echinacoside were combined with a natural mixture of alkamides and/or a water extract containing the high molecular weight compounds, contributing to the hypothesis that the physiologically beneficial effects ofEchinacea are exerted by the multitude of constituents present in the preparations.
