  author={Liao Jian-chun and Chen Fei-hu and Dong Hai-jun and G. Shu},
Objective To develop an LC-MS/MS method for determining the concentration of wogonin in dog plasma and investigate the pharmacokinetics and bioavailability by different administrations of wogonin in Beagle's dogs. Methods LC-MS/MS was employed in determining the concentration of wogonin with the selected ion monitoring model after liquid-liquid extraction with ethyl acetate of dog plasma samples. The lower limit of quantification was 0.105 μg/L. Target ions were at m/z 285.0→270.0 for wogonin… Expand

Pharmacokinetics, Tissue Distribution, Excretion and Plasma Protein Binding Studies of Wogonin in Rats
A rapid, sensitive, and specific LC-MS/MS method has been developed for the determination of wogonin in different rat biological samples, and indicated a very high protein binding degree (over 90%), reducing substantially the free fraction of the compound. Expand
Development of a new HPLC method for wogonin in rat plasma: Compatibility of standard and test samples
The standard sample preparation of this HPLC/UV method can be used as a guideline for other methods, particularly when highly hydrophobic drugs with considerable protein binding are involved and could be valuable in the field of bioanalysis to improve the reliability of methods. Expand
Potential Therapeutic Effects and Bioavailability of Wogonin, the Flavone of Baikal Skullcap
The flavonoids extracted from dried roots of Scutellaria species have been used in traditional Eastern medicine for the treatment of several human ailments, including cancer and inflammation. ModernExpand
The inhibitory effects of the bioactive components isolated from Scutellaria baicalensis on the cellular uptake mediated by the essential solute carrier transporters.
This study comprehensively evaluated the inhibitory effects of three bioactive components of Scutellaria baicalensis on the uptake of specific substrates mediated by the essential SLC transporters, which suggested that precautions will be needed when coadministrating drugs with ScUTellaria Baicalensis so as to prevent the unfavorable drug-drug/herb interactions in human. Topical Application of Wogonin Provides a Novel Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis
It is found that mice with wogonin treatment were statistically more active than mice receiving vehicle treatment and bolstering the cartilage morphology assessments in the form of a decrease in inflammatory and OA biomarkers. Expand

Determination of wogonin in rat plasma by liquid chromatography and its pharmacokinetic application.
A biphasic phenomenon with a rapid distribution followed by a slower elimination phase was observed from the plasma concentration time profile and was applied to the pharmacokinetic study of wogonin in rats after a dose of mg/kg by intravenous administration. Expand
[Determination of wogonin in rat plasma by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry].
This sensitive and rapid LC/MS/MS method proved to be specific, accurate and sensitive enough to be applied to the pharmacokinetic studies of wogonin in rats after a single dose of 5 mg. Expand
Quantitation of the flavonoid wogonin and its major metabolite wogonin-7 beta-D-glucuronide in rat plasma by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.
The liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method was successfully applied to a preclinical pharmacokinetic study of wogonin and its major metabolite, W-7-G, after an oral administration of 5 mg/kg wog onin to rats. Expand

Anti-hepatitis B virus activity of wogonin in vitro and in vivo.
It is demonstrated that wogonin possesses potent anti-HBV activity both in vitro and in vivo, and is under early development as an anti- HBV drug candidate. Expand
Anxiolytic effect of wogonin, a benzodiazepine receptor ligand isolated from Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi.
The pharmacological properties of a naturally occurring monoflavonoid, 5,7-dihydroxy-8-methoxyflavone or wogonin, and electrophysiological techniques suggest that wog onin exerts its anxiolytic effect through positive allosteric modulation of the GABA(A) receptor complex via interaction at the BZD-S. Expand
Anticonvulsant effect of wogonin isolated from Scutellaria baicalensis.
Results indicate that the anticonvulsive effects produced by wogonin were mediated by the GABAergic neuron. Expand
Wogonin suppresses tumor growth in vivo and VEGF-induced angiogenesis through inhibiting tyrosine phosphorylation of VEGFR2.
It is found for the first time that wogonin inhibited the growth and tumor angiogenesis of human gastric carcinoma in nude mice and strongly suggest that wgonin might be a promising antitumor drug. Expand
