We report in this paper results of experimental and theoretical studies of transitions between different integer quantum Hall phases in two-dimensional electron systems, as well as the transition to the insulating phase at high magnetic fields. We focus mainly on the resistivity at the transitions. We first present results of a numerical calculation for a non-interacting electron model, which shows that the Thouless conductance is universal at integer quantum Hall transitions, just like the…

Non-universal scaling in the integer quantum Hall effect regime in two-dimensional electron gas in InGaAs/InP heterostructures
We report on temperature scaling experiments on the integer quantum Hall effect plateau-to-plateau transitions as well as on the i = 1 plateau-to-insulating phase transitions in two-dimensional
Self-duality of the integer quantum Hall to insulator transition: Composite fermion description
The integer quantum Hall to insulator transition (IQHIT) is a paradigmatic quantum critical point. Key aspects of this transition, however, remain mysterious, due to the simultaneous effects of
Universal thermoelectric effect of Dirac fermions in graphene.
TLDR
The thermoelectric transports of Dirac fermions in graphene are numerically studied in the presence of a strong magnetic field and disorder to demonstrate universal behavior depending on the ratio between the temperature and the width of the disorder-broadened Landau levels.
AdS/QHE: towards a holographic description of quantum Hall experiments
Transitions among quantum Hall plateaux share a suite of remarkable experimental features, such as semicircle laws and duality relations, whose accuracy and robustness are difficult to explain
Course 2: The Quantum Hall Effect: Novel Excitations and Broken Symmetries
The Quantum Hall Effect (QHE) is one of the most remarkable condensed-matter phenomena discovered in the second half of the 20th century. It rivals superconductivity in its fundamental significance

Size-dependent analysis of the metal-insulator transition in the integral quantum Hall effect.
TLDR
A universal behavior for the three lowest Landau levels is obtained in agreement with the universality prediction of the field-theoretic approach to the metal-insulator transition in the quantum Hall effect.
Universal conductivity at the quantum Hall liquid to insulator transition.
TLDR
This study investigates a new class of samples of 2DES samples that are in the opposite extreme of the quality range in which the QHE can be observed, concentrating on the interplay and transitions between the various phases, rather than on their specific properties.

TLDR
The localization properties in the transition from a two-dimensional electron gas at zero magnetic field into an integer quantum Hall (QH) liquid are studied and it is found that the extended state energy for each Landau level (LL) is linear in magnetic field.
Magnetic-field-induced insulator-quantum Hall-insulator transition in a disordered two-dimensional electron gas
We present low-temperature transport measurements on the two-dimensional electron gas in delta -doped GaAs which undergoes an insulator-quantum Hall-insulator transition as the magnetic field is
Presence of quantum diffusion in two dimensions: Universal resistance at the superconductor-insulator transition.
We argue that whenever the transition between the insulating and superconducting phases of a disordered two-dimensional Fermi system at zero temperature ({ital T}=0) is continuous, the system behaves
CONDUCTANCE FLUCTUATIONS AT THE INTEGRER QUANTUM HALL PLATEAU TRANSITION
We study numerically conductance fluctuations near the integer quantum Hall effect plateau transition. The system is presumed to be in a mesoscopic regime, with phase coherence length comparable to
NEW UNIVERSALITY OF THE METAL-INSULATOR TRANSITION IN AN INTEGER QUANTUM HALL EFFECT SYSTEM
A new universality of the metal-insulator transition in an integer quantum Hall effect (IQHE) system is studied, based on a lattice model, where the IQHE states exist only within a finite range of
Quantum percolation and plateau transitions in the quantum Hall effect.
TLDR
This paper shows that both integer and fractional plateau transitions in the quantum Hall effect are due to quantum percolation, and its results agree extremely well with the experimental results for the integer plateau transition obtained by McEuen.
Magnetic-field-induced metal-insulator transition in two dimensions.
We carried out magnetotransport measurements and scaling analysis to report on a new magnetic-field-induced metal-insulator transition in two dimensions, where the separatrix between insulating and
