The bulbocavernosus muscle (BCM) surrounds the vaginal introitus and covers the vestibular bulb. Its role in erection is known. However, as it surrounds the vaginal introitus, it may also have a role in intravaginal pressure regulation and in the pathogenesis of uterovaginal prolapse.
