Several genes (PRKAA2, PRKAB1, PRKAB2, PRKAG3, GAA, GYS1, PYGM, ALDOA, GPI, LDHA, PGAM2 and PKM2), chosen according to their role in the regulation of the energy balance and in the glycogen metabolism and glycolysis of the skeletal muscle, were studied. Eleven single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were identified in six of these genes (PRKAB1, GAA, PYGM, LDHA, PGAM2 and PKM2).
