Key MethodSeventy-one individuals infected with one or more intestinal nematodes participated in an open trial of albendazole. Dry stool specimens were obtained before and on day 14 and 21 post treatment and examined using concentration, egg count (Kato) and coproculture techniques. After administration of a single 400mg dose in adults, cure rates for hookworm were 80.0%, Ascaris lumbricoides 95,7% Enterobius vermicularis 100% and all three infected by Trichuris trichiura were cured.
