In a highly developed living, people are always looking for a comfortable indoor environment with minimum energy use. Regional air conditioning mechanism (RACM) can create a personal thermal comfort control in a workroom which can contribute to save air-conditioning energy. In this study, we analyze the airflow circulation cell of the RACM with varied inlet port opening and inlet port position dimensions using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique. We created a RACM, two workstations…

Energy saving and thermal comfort studies of a regional air-conditioning mechanism
Abstract Making the workroom a more pleasant, comfortable, healthy, safe, and energy-efficient place is an important goal. This article presents an airflow management technique that uses a regional
Numerical analysis of an air-conditioning energy-saving mechanism
This paper presents a new concept in energy-saving equipment, namely, a regional air-conditioning mechanism (RACM). The RACM system is constructed with an inlet and an outlet in a main duct centered
NUMERICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSIS OF AN AIR CONDITIONING ENERGY-SAVING MECHANISM
Regional air conditioning mechanism (RACM) can control the airflow in a room for the purpose of achieving an individual thermal comfort zone. With this concept, each staff in a different area of the
Personalized ventilation.
TLDR
Personalized ventilation can improve occupants' comfort, decrease SBS symptoms and reduce the risk of transmission of contagion between occupants in comparison with total volume ventilation, in order to perform efficiently in rooms in practice.
Human response to personalized ventilation and mixing ventilation.
TLDR
Personalized ventilation can improve occupants' thermal comfort, perceived air quality and decrease the intensity of SBS symptoms compared to mixing ventilation and development of more efficient air terminal devices is recommended.
Indoor air quality in the 21st century: search for excellence.
TLDR
Five principles are suggested as elements behind a new philosophy of excellence: better indoor air quality increases productivity and decreases SBS symptoms, and unnecessary indoor pollution sources should be avoided.
