The amounts of antipyrine and its metabolites excreted in 24 h urine after i.v. injection of 10 mg antipyrine into male Wistar rats were quantified after enzymic hydrolysis with beta-glucuronidase/aryl sulphatase. In 24 h 2.7% of the administered dose was excreted as unchanged antipyrine, 13.3% as 4-hydroxyantipyrine, 7.4% as norantipyrine, 28.9% as 3-hydroxymethylantipyrine and 1.1% as 3-carboxyantipyrine. 2.
