Using nanofiltration membranes for the recovery of phosphorous with a second type of technology for the recoverability of nitrogen is suggest to be a viable process. Expand

Clinostomum spp. (Digenea: Clinostomidae) are a group of trematodes commonly found in the buccal cavity and oesophagus of a variety of piscivorous birds. The metacercariae, colloquially known asExpand

Clinostomum album n. sp. and Clinostomum marginatum (Rudolphi, 1819), parasites of the great egret Ardea alba L. from Mississippi, USA
Members of the genus Clinostomum Leidy, 1856, colloquially known as yellow grubs, are cosmopolitan parasites of piscivorous birds, freshwater snails, fish and amphibians, and are endemic on most commercial catfish operations in North America. Expand
Parasite assemblages of Double-crested Cormorants as indicators of host populations and migration behavior
Five distinct assemblages of helminth parasites collected from 218 P. auritus culled from 11 sites in Alabama, Minnesota, Mississippi, and Vermont are documented and show that an intermediate level of data resolution, using species occurrence ranks within individual hosts, behaves well statistically and provides the greatest discrimination among distinct host groups. The influence of geographical location, host maturity and sex on intestinal helminth communities of the double-crested cormorant Phalacrocorax auritus from the eastern United States
It is suggested that the differences observed among parasite infracommunities could be associated with the foraging distances travelled by P. auritus during breeding and wintering seasons, which is limited by allocation of parental care during the breeding season. Expand
Gastrointestinal Helminth Parasites of Double-Crested Cormorants (Phalacrocorax auritus) at Four Sites in Saskatchewan, Canada
Overall, parasite fauna was similar at 3 of 4 lakes; however, birds at a breeding colony that consumed a high proportion of amphibians (instead of fish) had a low prevalence and intensity of D. spathans. Expand
Helminths of the Western Mosquitofish (Gambusia affinis) in Bayou Traverse, Louisiana, U.S.A
The parasites found in this study are consistent with helminths that parasitize birds and mammals as adults in the LaBranche wetlands of southeastern Louisiana, U.S.A. Expand
