As is true of most Cuban plant families, the orchids which inhabit that prolific island are very incompletely known. Much critical study and revision still remains to be done on this group in Cuba, though the orchids have on several occasions been reviewed. The most recent treatment of the Orchidaceae in Cuba is that of Hermano Lebn (Dr. Joseph S. Sauget y Barbier) in his Flora de Cuba 1:341-404 (1946). l~.
