Amyloid binding alcohol dehydrogenase, a mitochondrial protein, is a cofactor facilitating amyloid-β peptide (Aβ) induced cell stress. Antagonizing Aβ-ABAD interaction protects against aberrant mitochondrial and neuronal function and improves learning memory in the Alzheimer's disease mouse model.
