The antibacterial activity of the five dimeric quaternary ammonium amphiphiles against Escherichia coli were evaluated by determining the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and compared with one monomeric quaternary ammonium amphiphile. The antibacterial activity of dimeric amphiphiles is superior to the corresponding monomeric amphiphile.
