The structure, dynamics, and thermodynamics of gold nanocrystallites passivated by alkylthiolate monolayers were investigated, using molecular dynamics simulations, in different environments sas i olated gas-phase clusters, when adsorbed on a graphite surface, and when assembled into three-dimensional superlattices.
