Structural properties of additive binary hard-sphere mixtures.

A very good overall agreement between the results of the present scheme and those of the RFA is found, suggesting that the latter (which is an improvement over the PY approximation) can safely be used to predict reasonably well the long-range behavior of the correlation functions of additive binary hard-sphere mixtures.

Structural properties of additive binary hard-sphere mixtures. II. Asymptotic behavior and structural crossovers.

The so-called rational-function approximation method and an approach combining accurate molecular dynamics simulation data, the pole structure representation of the total correlation functions, and the Ornstein-Zernike equation are considered are considered.

Direct correlation functions of binary mixtures of hard Gaussian overlap molecules.

The direct correlation function (DCF) of a classical fluid mixture of nonspherical molecules is studied, and a formalism based on the weighted density functional theory introduced by Chamoux and Perera is used.

The direct correlation function, resulting from the Santos functional, is derived, and it is found to be very close to the result of the White Bear density functional, except near the origin where it diverges.

Direct correlation functions for negatively non-additive hard spheres in the PY approximation

We investigate, within the Percus-Yevick (PY) approximation, the functional form of the direct correlation functions cij (r) for symmetric binary mixtures of hard spheres with negatively non-additive

Direct correlation functions and bridge functions in additive hard-sphere mixtures

A method to obtain (approximate) analytical expressions for the radial distribution functions in a multicomponent mixture of additive hard spheres that was recently introduced is used to obtain the

Direct observation in 3d of structural crossover in binary hard sphere mixtures.

Using particle-resolved colloid experiments in 3d it is demonstrated that crossover exists and that its location in the phase diagram is in quantitative agreement with the results of both theory and Monte-Carlo simulations.

Decay of correlation functions in hard-sphere mixtures: structural crossover.

It is shown that structural crossover also manifests itself in the intermediate range behavior of the pair correlation functions and the relevance of this observation for real (colloidal) mixtures is commented on.

Distribution functions of multi-component fluid mixtures of hard spheres

A simple algorithm for obtaining accurate pair distribution functions gij of hard-sphere mixtures is proposed. This generalizes the pure-fluid procedure of Verlet and Weis for improving the
