The specific features revealed in the structure of the d3 Cr(III), d2 Cr(IV), d1Cr(V), and d0 Cr(VI) peroxo complexes with the ratios M:O2 = 1:1, 1:2, and 1:4 are considered. It is noted that, in eleven compounds of the general formula Cr(O2)nOmAp (n = 1, 2, 4; m = 0, 1; p = 0–4), the metal atoms can be in four oxidations states: +3 (d3), +4 (d4), +5 (d1), and +6 (d0). This property distinguishes chromium peroxo compounds from molybdenum and tungsten dioxygen complexes, which, with one…

Chromium(IV)-peroxo complex formation and its nitric oxide dioxygenase reactivity.

Full spectroscopic and X-ray analysis revealed that 2 possesses side-on η(2)-peroxo ligation, and the quantitative reaction of 2 with NO affords a reduction in Cr oxidation state, producing a Cr(III)-nitrato complex, [Cr(III)(12-TMC)(NO(3))(Cl)](+) (3).

Structural chemistry of oxoperoxo complexes of vanadium(V): A review

This paper presents a review of the structural features of monomeric, dimeric, and polymeric oxoperoxo complexes of vanadium(V). The structural manifestations of the trans effect of multiply bonded

Bond valence sums in coordination chemistry. Calculation of the oxidation state of chromium in complexes containing only Cr-O bonds and a redetermination of the crystal structure of potassium tetra(peroxo)chromate(V).

The crystal structure of K3CrO8 was redetermined at 173 K to provide accurate data for a Cr complex with both high oxidation state and coordination number and an analysis of the Cr-O bond distances used in the calculations shows a large range of values that can be understood in terms of the bond valence sum calculation.

The mixed-ligand (thioutea)ethylenediaminetetraacetatobismuthates(III) of the (CH 7 N 4 )[Bi(Edta)(Tu) 2 ]-2.5H 2 O(I) and (CH 7 N 4 )[Bi(Edta)(Tu)(H 2 O) . 2H 2 O (II) compositions have been

Nature de la liaison dans l'ion tétraperoxochromate CrO83−: une étude des structures cristalline et électronique

Refinement of the crystal structure of K3CrO8 points to a shortening of the O-O bond in the chromeV tetraperoxo ion CrO83−with respect to its value in the peroxyde ion. Anab-initio calculation with a

Chemical Bonding in the Perchromate Ion

The perchromate ion, CrO83—, in K3CrO8 has D2d(42m) symmetry and consists of a central pentavalent chromium ion surrounded by four peroxide groups. On the basis of a refinement of the previous

Crystal Field Splitting in Potassium Perchromate

Measurements of the diffuse reflectance spectrum of K3CrO8 and its dilutions in CaF2 essentially support the transmission results of Swalen and Ibers. Peaks observed at 2.00 and 2.53 eV are

The Cambridge Structural Database now contains data for more than a quarter of a million small-molecule crystal structures, and projections concerning future accession rates indicate that the CSD will contain at least 500,000 crystal structures by the year 2010.

Experiments on simple magnetic model systems

In this paper we shall review the theoretical and experimental results obtained on simple magnetic model systems. We shall consider the Heisenberg, XY and Ising type of interaction (ferro and
