We have compared the sequences of the putative polypeptides of the human pathogenic B19 parvovirus with protein sequences in the National Bethesda Research Foundation Library, and have discovered a significant homology between a B19 parvovirus non-structural (NS) protein and the T antigens of polyomaviruses and simian virus 40 (SV40) and the putative E1 proteins of papillomaviruses. The region of highest homology with the papovavirus proteins corresponds to the region that is most highly…

Inhibition of parvovirus minute virus of mice replication by a peptide involved in the oligomerization of nonstructural protein NS1
TLDR
This study led to the identification of a distinct NS1 peptide that contains a bipartite domain involved in NS1 oligomerization, and this isolated peptide was found to act as a specific competitive inhibitor and suppress NS1 helicase activity in vitro and parvovirus DNA replication in vivo.
Mutational analysis of the NS-1 protein of the MVM parvovirus.
TLDR
The ability of the mutant proteins to complement a replication defective NS-1 mutant of the infectious MVM plasmid pMM984 and to activate transcription from the MVM capsid gene promoter in chloramphenicol acetyl transferase (CAT) expression assays was determined.
Nucleotide sequence of feline panleukopenia virus: comparison with canine parvovirus identifies host-specific differences.
The nucleotide sequence of feline panleukopenia virus (FPV) strain 193 was determined and compared with the sequence of canine parvovirus (CPV) strain N and partial sequences of FPV strain Carl and
Inhibition of Parvovirus Minute Virus of Mice Replication by a Peptide Involved in the Oligomerization of Nonstructural Protein NS 1 AURORA PUJOL
TLDR
This study led to the identification of a distinct NS1 peptide that contains a bipartite domain involved in NS1 oligomerization, and this isolated peptide was found to act as a specific competitive inhibitor and suppress NS1 helicase activity in vitro and parvovirus DNA replication in vivo.
The Putative Metal Coordination Motif in the Endonuclease Domain of Human Parvovirus B19 NS1 Is Critical for NS1 Induced S Phase Arrest and DNA Damage
The non-structural proteins (NS) of the parvovirus family are highly conserved multi-functional molecules that have been extensively characterized and shown to be integral to viral replication. Along
The Enigmatic Origin of Papillomavirus Protein Domains
TLDR
It is shown that the major capsid protein L1 and the replication protein E1 have relatives in several viral families, sharing three protein domains with Polyomaviridae and Parvoviridae, however, only the E1 replication protein has connections with cellular organisms.
A novel parvovirus isolated from Manchurian chipmunks.
TLDR
Observations indicate that the virus isolated from Manchurian chipmunks is a novel parvovirus and may be a potentially useful animal model of human B19 infection as a new member of the Erythrovirus genus of the Parvoviridae.
Terminal regions of the NS-1 protein of the parvovirus minute virus of mice are involved in cytotoxicity and promoter trans inhibition
TLDR
In transformed human NBE cells, the NS-1 protein is indispensable for MVMp DNA replication, trans activation of the late parvoviral promoter P38, trans inhibition of the long terminal repeat promoter of the Rous sarcoma virus, and cytotoxicity.

Cloning and sequence of DNA encoding structural proteins of the autonomous parvovirus feline panleukopenia virus
TLDR
A model for the generation of the two size classes of viral structural proteins (VP1 and VP2') is proposed based on considerable homology between the feline panleukopenia virus sequence and the sequences of the parvoviruses minute virus of mice and H-1.
Characterization and molecular cloning of a human parvovirus genome.
The genome of the small human virus serologically associated with erythrocyte aplasia and erythema infectiosum (fifth disease) is shown to be a linear, nonpermuted, single-stranded DNA molecule with
Nucleotide sequence of the coat protein gene of canine parvovirus.
TLDR
The nucleotide sequence of the canine parvovirus (CPV2) from map units 33 to 95 has been determined and the predicted capsid protein structures are discussed and compared with those of the rodentParvoviruses H-1 and MVM.
Identification of multiple forms of the noncapsid parvovirus protein NCVP1 in H-1 parvovirus-infected cells
TLDR
Analysis of extracts of H-1 parvovirus-infected cells with virus-specific antiserum led to the identification of two forms of the noncapsid virus protein NCVP1, which was a highly phosphorylated protein which was apparently derived fromNCVP1 via a post-translational event.
A common function for polyoma virus large-T and papillomavirus E1 proteins?
TLDR
The observations suggest that the papillomavirus E1 proteins might have a function in common with the polyoma virus large-T proteins (which are required for the initiation of viral DNA replication), which are general characteristics of eukaryotic proteins involved in the control of DNA replication.
Nucleotide sequence and genome organization of human parvovirus B19 isolated from the serum of a child during aplastic crisis.
TLDR
Analysis of the putative polypeptides confirms that B19 is only distantly related to the other parvoviruses but reveals that there is a small region in the gene probably encoding the major nonstructural protein of B19, which is closely conserved between all of theParvovirus genomes for which sequence information is currently available.
The primary structure and genetic organization of the bovine papillomavirus type 1 genome
TLDR
A sequence comparison indicates the genomic organization of the bovine papillomavirus and that of the members of the simian virus 40-polyomvirus subgroup to be distinct, suggesting that these two groups of viruses are evolutionarily unrelated.
The genome of simian virus 40.
The nucleotide sequence of SV40 DNA was determined, and the sequence was correlated with known genes of the virus and with the structure of viral messenger RNA's. There is a limited overlap of the
Parvovirus genome: nucleotide sequence of H-1 and mapping of its genes by hybrid-arrested translation
TLDR
The nucleotide sequence of the parvovirus H-1 has been determined by the chain-terminating method of Sanger and the locations for the genes for the capsid proteins and a 76,000-dalton noncapsid protein (NCVP1) were mapped by hybrid-arrested translation.
