The corticostriatal connections of the parietal association cortices were examined by the autoradiographic technique in rhesus monkeys. The results show that the rostral portion of the superior parietal lobule projects predominantly to the dorsal portion of the putamen, whereas the caudal portion of the superior parietal lobule and the cortex of the upper bank of the intraparietal sulcus have connections with the caudate nucleus as well as with the dorsal portion of the putamen.
