Small torque pulses were delivered to the forearm in order to test the stretch reflex of the brachialis and triceps arm muscles in 11 normal subjects performing a cyclic movement about the elbow in the horizontal plane. The flexion-extension movement was paced by a metronome and performed under various loading conditions.
