—Because of potential conflicts between management of reservoir releases for endangered native fishes and tailwater trout fisheries, we used radiotelemetry to monitor channel position of rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss during elevated spring reservoir releases designed to benefit native fishes. Fish were monitored at two sites downstream of Navajo Dam, New Mexico: a site with braided channels 0.6 km downstream of the dam and a less complex site 6 km downstream of the dam.
