The problem of scheduling n jobs in a two-machine ̄owshop with constant and known processing times is considered with the total ̄owtime performance measure. The machines are subject to random breakdowns and there is no waiting space between them. The problem is formulated and an expression for the completion time of the jobs is obtained in terms of the processing times and the breakdown elements.
