In this paper the basic methodology of the coupled response-degradation modelling of stochastic dynamical systems is presented along with the effective analysis of selected problems. First, the general formulation of the problems of stochastic dynamics coupled with the evolution of deterioration process is given. Then some specific degrading oscillatory systems under random excitation are analyzed with a special attention on the systems with fatigue-induced stiffness degradation. Both, the…

Real-time damage detection of degrading systems
TLDR
A robust output-only real-time damage detection technique for multi-degree-of-freedom degrading systems using recursive canonical correlation analysis is presented and the efficacy of the proposed algorithm in identification of nonlinear and time varying behavior associated with degrading structural systems is demonstrated.
STOCHASTIC METHODS IN MECHANICS: STATUS AND CHALLENGES
TLDR
The Dynamic Modification Method (DMM) proposed in [11] is extensively used and resorted to cope with the dynamic response reanalysis in time domain, and the method evaluates the structural response by the dynamic modification approach without solving any eigenproblem.
STOCHASTIC METHODS IN MECHANICS: STATUS AND CHALLENGES
In various structural design and optimization problems it is necessary to repeatedly evaluate the response of the structure for numerous modified designs. Specifically, mechanical and geometrical
Polynomial chaos expansion method in estimating probability distribution of rotor-shaft dynamic responses
The main purpose of the study is an assessment of computational efficiency of selected numerical methods for estimation of vibrational response statistics of a large multi-bearing turbo-generator
First-Order Eigen-Perturbation Techniques for Real-Time Damage Detection of Vibrating Systems: Theory and Applications
TLDR
This manuscript provides a detailed synopsis of the contemporary advancements in the nascent area of real-time structural damage detection for vibrating systems and discusses and demonstrates the FOP-based algorithms in the light of all the contemporary nonadaptive/nonrecursive techniques to establish their relevance.
