Sterol-free eukaryotic cells from continuous cell lines of insects.

Three cell lines from Mamestra brassicae (Lepidoptera), one from Aedes albopictus (Diptera) and one from Sarcophaga peregrina (Diptera) were continuously cultured in a sterol-free medium and analyzed for sterol content.
