Hemangionia is the most common benign tumor of infancy. The natural history of infantile hemangiomata is one of rapid growth beginning at two to three months of age and continuing until approximately one to two years of age. Regression of the lesion takes place over a period of several years. Active treatment is therefore unnecessary unless there is major interference with the normal function of vital organs.
