In these brief lecture notes, we introduce sterile neutrinos as dark matter candidates. We discuss in particular their production via oscillations, their radiative decay, as well as possible observational signatures and constraints.

Sterile neutrino Dark Matter
We review sterile neutrinos as possible Dark Matter candidates. After a short summary on the role of neutrinos in cosmology and particle physics, we give a comprehensive overview of the current
Sterile neutrinos in cosmology
Sterile neutrinos are natural extensions to the standard model of particle physics in neutrino mass generation mechanisms. If they are relatively light, less than approximately 10 keV, they can alter
A White Paper on keV sterile neutrino Dark Matter
We present a comprehensive review of keV-scale sterile neutrino Dark Matter, collecting views and insights from all disciplines involved—cosmology, astrophysics, nuclear, and particle physics—in each
Sterile neutrinos as dark matter.
This model is reexamine and it is found that hot, warm, and cold dark matter are all possibilities and the number density of sterile neutrinos is proportional to [mu][sup 2]/M so that the energy density today is independent of M, which is crucial in determining the large scale structure of the Universe.
Constraints from Ly-α forests on non-thermal dark matter including resonantly-produced sterile neutrinos
We use the large BOSS DR9 sample of quasar spectra to constrain two cases of non-thermal dark matter models: cold-plus-warm dark matter (C+WDM) where the warm component is a thermal relic, and
New Dark Matter Candidate: Nonthermal Sterile Neutrinos
We propose a new and unique dark matter candidate: $\ensuremath{\sim}100$ eV to $\ensuremath{\sim}10$ keV sterile neutrinos produced via lepton-number-driven resonant Mikheyev-Smirnov-Wolfenstein
Sterile neutrinos: The Dark side of the light fermions
The discovery of neutrino masses suggests the likely existence of gauge singlet fermions that participate in the neutrino mass generation via the seesaw mechanism. The masses of the corresponding
Electromagnetic Properties and Decays of Dirac and Majorana Neutrinos in a General Class of Gauge Theories
Abstract We discuss the electromagnetic properties and decays of Dirac and Majorana neutrinos in a general class of gauge theories. Specific results for the standard SU(2)L × U(1) and a (not
Exotic decays of the muon and heavy leptons in gauge theories
Abstract We have studied the decay l1 → l2 + γ for arbitrary like charged spin 1 2 leptons in a manner which is applicable to a large class of models. Our computations assume that this process is
Dynamical Role of Light Neutral Leptons in Cosmology
Using the Vlasov equation, we show that massive galactic halos cannot be composed of stable neutral leptons of mass \ensuremath{\lesssim} 1 MeV. Since most of the mass in clusters of galaxies
