In this paper we introduce a block based vector field estimation technique which is based upon a genetic algorithm and which exploits the dual sensor nature of a stereoscopic signal in order to accelerate its convergence. This vector field estimation technique has been designed to produce smooth vector fields at a small block size without sacrificing accuracy.
