Nowadays, the sports related industry increases dramatically and vast amounts of money are spent on such activities. Betting on the results of athletic competitions is very popular in all countries of the European Community and the electronic facilities allow participation in such bets from all over the world. In this paper we explore the possibility of developing statistical models for predicting the outcome of a soccer game.
