The ground state of the Dirac one-electron atom, placed in a weak, static electric field of definite $2^{L}$-polarity, is studied within the framework of the first-order perturbation theory. The Sturmian expansion of the generalized Dirac-Coulomb Green function [R. Szmytkowski, J. Phys. B 30 (1997) 825, erratum: 30 (1997) 2747] is used to derive closed-form analytical expressions for various far-field and near-nucleus static electric multipole susceptibilities of the atom. The far-field…

Second-order Stark effect and polarizability of a relativistic two-dimensional hydrogenlike atom in the ground state

Piecewise linearity, freedom from self-interaction, and a Coulomb asymptotic potential: three related yet inequivalent properties of the exact density functional.

This overview of the three conditions that must be obeyed by the exact energy functional of density functional theory show that these three properties are related, but are not equivalent and need to be assessed individually.

Towards the analysis of attosecond dynamics in complex systems.

We study from a theoretical perspective the ionization of molecules and clusters induced by irradiation of a combined two-color laser field consisting of a train of attosecond XUV pulses in the
