We construct two models of discrete-time replicator dynamics with time delay. In the social-type model, players imitate opponents taking into account average payoffs of games played some units of time ago. In the biological-type model, new players are born from parents who played in the past. We consider two-player games with two strategies and a unique mixed evolutionarily stable strategy. We show that in the first type of dynamics, it is asymptotically stable for small time delays and becomes… Expand

Stability of Replicator Dynamics with Bounded Continuously Distributed Time Delay
TLDR
The stability of the evolutionarily stable strategy in the replicator dynamics with bounded continuously distributed time delay in two-player game contexts is investigated and some stability conditions of the unique interior Nash equilibrium are obtained. Expand
Stochasticity and Time Delays in Evolutionary Games
TLDR
Three models of time-delay stochastic dynamics of finite well-mixed or random-matching populations with a unique mixed evolutionarily stable strategy are presented. Expand
Random time delays in evolutionary game dynamics
TLDR
It is shown that, under the exponential delay distribution, the ESS is asymptotically stable for any value of the rate parameter, including the uniform and Erlang distributions. Expand
Delayed Evolutionary game dynamics with non-uniform interactions in two communities
TLDR
It is proved that for large strategic delays, the mixed intermediate ESS may become an unstable state for the replicator dynamics, while for any value of the spatial delay, the replicators dynamics converge to the intermediate E SS. Expand
Evolution of populations with strategy-dependent time delays
TLDR
It is shown that microscopic models of evolutionary games with strategy-dependent time delays, in which payoffs appear some time after interactions of individuals, lead to a new type of replicator dynamics, which shows that effects of time delays are much more complex than it was previously thought. Expand
Discrete and Continuous Distributed Delays in Replicator Dynamics
TLDR
The main results are that under the exponential delay distribution, the ESS is asymptotically stable for any value of the rate parameter and for the discrete distributed delays, a necessary and sufficient delay-independent stability conditions are derived. Expand
Dynamics of Deterministic and Stochastic Evolutionary Games with Multiple delays
TLDR
The effect of time delays in evolutionary games with one population of users and two strategies and the behavior of the first and second solution moments for linear stochastic differential delay equation in the presence of white and colored noise is studied. Expand
Replicator dynamics of an N-player snowdrift game with delayed payoffs
TLDR
A version of the N -player snowdrift game in which the payoffs obtained by the players are delayed is shown to lead to a Hopf bifurcation with an associated critical value of the time delay in the replicator dynamics. Expand

TLDR
It is shown that a unique mixed evolutionarily stable state in games in well-mixed populations is asymptotically stable under a class of delayed replicator dynamics, for any lag distribution. Expand
Stochasticity and time delays in gene expression and evolutionary game theory
TLDR
The effects of stochasticity and time delays in simple models of population dynamics are discussed and illustrated in models of delayed random walks, gene expression, and population dynamics of evolutionary game theory. Expand

Evolutionarily Stable Strategies and Game Dynamics
We consider a class of matrix games in which successful strategies are rewarded by high reproductive rates, so become more likely to participate in subsequent playings of the game. Thus, over time,Expand

TLDR
In this paper, a simple two-phenotype model with time delay is investigated and the stability of the interior equilibrium point of the pure strategy model not only depends on the property of the payoff matrix but also the effect of time delay. Expand
Dynamics of the evolution of animal conflicts
TLDR
Dynamics are introduced into Maynard Smith's game about the evolution of strategies in animal conflicts and the stabilised game offers an explanation for the development of hierarchical societies in terms of natural selection acting on individuals. Expand
A note on evolutionary stable strategies and game dynamics.
TLDR
In Taylor & Jonker (1978) the authors used the fact that the payoff, in animal contests, corresponds " by definition " to the rate of increase to suggest the dynamical model given by ~i/Xi = C aijxj. Expand

The paper extends arguments used by Maynard Smith & Price (1973) showing that ritualized behaviour can evolve by individual selection, and the concept of an evolutionarily stable strategy, or ESS, is defined. Expand
