We numerically investigate the soliton tunnelling process in double-well potential trapped Bose-Einstein condensate. Comparing with the usual low energy few particle tunnelling process, we find that the soliton tunnelling leads to massive particle transport between two wells. The {population imbalance} between two wells is not evolving sinusoidally with the time as the Josephson plasma oscillation, but shows a higher density contrast square-wave pattern due to the reflections at the trapping…

Dark soliton states of Bose-Einstein condensates in anisotropic traps,
Dark soliton states of Bose-Einstein condensates in harmonic traps are studied both analytically and computationally by the direct solution of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation in three dimensions. The
Josephson tunnelling of dark solitons in a double-well potential
We study the dynamics of matter waves in an effectively one-dimensional Bose–Einstein condensate in a double-well potential. We consider in particular the case when one of the double wells confines
Quantum Coherent Atomic Tunneling between Two Trapped Bose-Einstein Condensates
We study the coherent atomic tunneling between two zero-temperature Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC) confined in a double-well magnetic trap. Two Gross-Pitaevskii equations for the self-interacting
Dynamics of a tunable superfluid junction.
TLDR
The population dynamics of a Bose-Einstein condensate in a double-well potential throughout the crossover from Josephson dynamics to hydrodynamics is studied and implications for trapped matter-wave interferometers are discussed.
Watching dark solitons decay into vortex rings in a Bose-Einstein condensate.
We have created spatial dark solitons in two-component Bose-Einstein condensates in which the soliton exists in one of the condensate components and the soliton nodal plane is filled with the second
Formation and propagation of matter-wave soliton trains
TLDR
The formation of bright solitons of 7Li atoms in a quasi-one-dimensional optical trap is reported, by magnetically tuning the interactions in a stable Bose–Einstein condensate from repulsive to attractive.
Generation and interaction of solitons in Bose-Einstein Condensates
Generation, interaction, and detection of dark solitons in Bose-Einstein condensates are studied. In particular, we focus on the dynamics resulting from phase imprinting and density engineering. We
Nonlinearity-assisted quantum tunnelling in a matter-wave interferometer
We investigate the nonlinearity-assisted quantum tunnelling and formation of nonlinear collective excitations in a matter-wave interferometer, which is realized by the adiabatic transformation of a
Dark solitons in cigar-shaped Bose-Einstein condensates in double-well potentials
We study the statics and dynamics of dark solitons in a cigar-shaped Bose-Einstein condensate confined in a double-well potential. Using a mean-field model with a noncubic nonlinearity, appropriate
Josephson Junction Arrays with Bose-Einstein Condensates
TLDR
This report reports on the direct observation of an oscillating atomic current in a one-dimensional array of Josephson junctions realized with an atomic Bose-Einstein condensate, which may allow investigation of phenomena so far inaccessible to superconducting Josephsonjunctions and lays a bridge between the condensates dynamics and the physics of discrete nonlinear media.
