The clinicopathological features of 11 cases of primary oesophageal squamous cell carcinomas with mucin-secreting component (eight muco-epidermoid and three adenosquamous carcinomas) are presented. The incidence was 2.2% of all resected primary oesophageal tumors. The mean age was 64 years and the male to female ratio was 4.5:1. The mean diameter of these tumours was 4 cm.
