We have cloned cDNA of squamous cell carcinoma antigen. Sequence analysis of the complete 1711 basepairs SCC antigen cDNA revealed that it coded 390 amino acids and no typical signal sequence in the NH2-terminus. Northern blot analysis of human squamous cell poly(A)+ RNA using this cDNA insert as the probe showed a single RNA species of about 1.7 kilobases.
